Walking into Milk and Honey during the lunchtime r Walking into Milk and Honey during the lunchtime rush, I decided to seat myself at the bar. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the service was—the bartender approached me almost immediately, which is always a good start. When I asked for recommendations, he was quick to suggest both drink and food options. I opted for the Watermelon Margarita. While it sounded like the perfect refreshing choice, it fell a little flat for me. The saltiness paired with the watermelon just didn’t hit right—it gave off an odd taste. Still, I finished it (because, let’s be honest—it had alcohol in it!). For my meal, I originally planned to order the Cajun pasta with lobster, but the menu had apparently changed. I went with the shrimp and crab version instead, which came with an additional $15 charge. The flavor was… okay. The Cajun sauce had potential, but it lacked depth—it needed more seasoning or salt to really come alive. And presentation-wise, I felt a bit let down. The plate was drowning in sauce, yet surprisingly light on the actual pasta. For nearly $30, I expected a more balanced portion. The two tomatoes on the plate also seemed like an afterthought. A little roasting or grilling could’ve added so much flavor. That said, the atmosphere was peaceful, and I appreciated the chance to get some work done while I was there. I’m curious to come back for brunch with friends and try a new cocktail—maybe the overall vibe will feel more lively with company. In short, the visit was fine. I left fed, but the food and drinks didn’t really wow me. Here’s hoping the next visit brings a little more flavor and a lot more vibe.
